Terms of Service

Effective October 3, 2026

These terms cover your use of Tryingopen, run by Offline Base: tryingopen.com, including Self Chat at tryingopen.com/self-chat, the provider sites that run on the same service (tryingcoreweave.com, tryingbaseten.com and tryingmodal.com), and the Tryingopen browser extension. By using any of them you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them.

The service

Tryingopen lets you chat with open AI models for free, with no account. Self Chat additionally saves your chats in storage you choose and can talk to a model running on your own computer. We may change, limit or stop any part of the service at any time, including which models are offered and how many messages you can send.

AI answers can be wrong

Replies are written by AI models and can be inaccurate, incomplete, out of date or offensive. They are not professional advice of any kind, including medical, legal or financial advice. Check anything important before you rely on it. You are responsible for how you use what the models produce.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use the service to:

  • break the law, or help anyone else break it;
  • create content that sexualises minors, or that harasses, threatens or defames real people;
  • get around the service’s limits, for example with automated requests, scraping, or rotating addresses to avoid rate limits;
  • attack, probe or disrupt the service or the systems it relies on;
  • break the terms or usage policies of the companies that serve the models, which apply to what you send them.

We may block access from anyone who does, without notice.

Your content

What you type, attach and receive is yours, as far as the law and the model’s terms allow. You are responsible for having the right to send what you send. We do not store your conversations; how your messages travel to the companies that serve the models is explained in our Privacy Policy.

Share links carry the conversation inside the link, so anyone you give one to can read it and pass it on.

Other companies' services

The service relies on others, including OpenRouter and the companies serving each model, search providers when search is on, and, in Self Chat, Google Drive, OneDrive or Dropbox when you connect one. Their own terms apply to your use of them, and we are not responsible for them. Open models are also published under their makers’ licenses.

Self Chat

  • Your chats are kept only in the storage you connect. Keeping them, backing them up and deleting them is up to you and that storage. We cannot recover a chat that has been deleted there.
  • A model on your own computer is software you run. We do not control it and are not responsible for what it does.

No warranty

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, free of charge, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Offline Base is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of the service or of any answer it gives. Some places do not allow these limits, in which case they apply only as far as allowed.

Changes

We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the date at the top. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated terms.
